Bringing Home Baby
The first week home with baby has gone really well, we had a few bumps, but everything has worked out! Todd has been an amazing help to Mommy, and went back to work one week after baby was home. Abby eats great, and is doing really well with breast-feeding. She loves all her cuddly blankets, and loves to just hang out on the boppy and watch TV with Daddy. It's been a learning experience, and we are having fun doing it!

Baby Time!!!
So here's the story of Abigail's coming to the world.....
We checked into the hospital at 6:45 AM on Tuesday November 7th, 2006. The first step was a pill to induce labor - my Doctor thought this would be less "invasive" than patocin (sp?) as it simulates normal labor and contractions. The first dose did nothing, and we had to wait four hours before I could take the next. I took the next one, and started to have some pretty strong contractions - but only had dilated to a 4. My Mom, Robin, Todd and I passed the time watching movies, and just hanging out! It was nice to have the support and people to distract me during the rough times.
By the end of the second 4 hours I was having much, much stronger contractions.I took this time to get in the whirlpool and then beg for my epidural! The doctor who administers epidurals had two people to do first and then he was on his way, in the mean time, I was having very strong contractions - about a minute and half apart and about 30 seconds long, eventually I got my epidural, the only problem was I was still feeling my contractions strongly, it wasn't working...The doctor came back and gave me another dose of the epidural, and IT WORKED!!! I was so happy I called the doc God!!!
At this time the nurse thought my contractions where not showing right, and decided to do a internal contraction monitor, when the head nurse went to put it in - she said - "whoa - she's a 10!!!" So there was a reason why I was feeling contractions so hard - I had went from a 4 to a 10 in three hours, and was contracting at a 10 level before the second epidural kicked in! Yikes...my doctor joked that I know what it feels like to contract at a 10 so if I want to do a natural child birth next time I will know what it feels like...I told her yeah right! I am asking for the epidural faster...lolAt this time the decided to have me rest for an hour and then we would start pushing!!! I was so excited, and feeling good, we started pushing and things changed. Every time I pushed the babies heart rate dropped from 135 - 145 to 50 - 60. It was really scary, the doctor called in a bigger team and a NICU team, and decided at this point we would only try pushing for a little bit, we could see babies head, so she was right there, but unfortunately she didn't want to come out fast enough, so we had to do the vacuum, we tried that twice and it popped off her head...they said maybe because she had so much hair! At this point they just needed baby out fast, so they used forceps.
She came out pretty fast after that! I wasn't feeling anything but joy - Todd and I just basked in the glow of our new daughter. Who even though was having some troubles before she came out, she was beautiful and breathing great and pink when she came out!I found out later, and after two hours of the doctors working on me that I was tore pretty bad, from the forceps. I lost a lot of blood, and they had to use a lot of stitches to put me back together. But it was small price to pay for my baby to come out quick with her heart rate dropping like that.She was here!!!! And everyone’s first reaction was she looked like Daddy - I was just happy she was ok!!!

Doctor Appt.
Today's Appointment went well:
Dilated: 2.5
Measured 39
Cervix thinned from 40% to 75% this week
Babies head is completely engaged
Doctor said we are doing well - had a little bleeding - so I am instructed to take it easy this week. If I don't go into labor this week - we officially have an induction scheduled for Tuesday November 7th!!!
We are hoping to go into labor before this, but if we don't the doctor is confident things will be ok, as my body is preparing already for labor, and the baby is ready!
We will keep you updated - let's hope the next post is a baby announcement!!!

38 Week Appt!

Measured: 38 Weeks
At this point the doctor said with some of the problems I have been having - if I don't go into labor before my due date - they will not allow me to go past my due date and will induce me. Also have to keep doing non-fetal stress test (NST) twice a week, and if at anytime they see these tests and think I should be induced - they will do that also! But she said that things look good - babies head is down and becoming more engaged, and I am progressing as far as dilation.
Could be any day now! I will keep you all updated

Belly Time!!!! 37 Weeks
Watch out world, here comes Amy's BIG BELLY!!! I am down to the final three weeks, and my baby is growing!!! 37 Week appt. went well - I am dilated about a pinky fingers length which is normal for this time...measured at 38 weeks, and things looked good...I am at the point where I am ready to meet our little girl! I am so tired....and well...HUGE!!!
Happy 1 year anniversary!!!
October 8, 2006 was Todd & I's one year wedding anniversary! We spent the day together, had a special dinner, made eachother gifts, and topped the night off with a piece of our wedding cake! It actually didn't taste too bad! Looking back at this year, we can't believe how much we have gone through - we really hope to take the struggles and good times of the last year and make the next year even better!

36 Weeks!! Yikes! One month left!
Today was my 36 Week appt. Everything went well - I measured at 37, heart rate was great, and baby is head down. Cervix is softening, so my body is getting ready!! I can't believe we only have one month and we will get to meet our little girl!!! We are so excited and nervous at the same time!
Another Shower!!!
This week at my work, they had a baby shower for me!!! Can you say spoiled?!?!?! We got all kinds of fun, cute baby stuff, it was so much fun, and the cake was YUMMY!!! This baby isn't even here yet and she is so spoiled!!!

Autumn Festival
This weekend we went to the Fall Festival at the Apple Orchard. Todd's Family and lots of our friends where there. Todd's sisters Toni & Terri where there with their kids and Pat was there, and then Melody, Steve and kids where there (see below the ADORABLE pics of Lily) Misty was there with Jadon, and Becky and Lexi and Tiffani and Debbie and Larry - it was a fun time seeing everyone, enjoying the BEAUTIFUL day, sitting in the shade, picking apples, and watching the kids have fun!

Our Baby Girl shows her face!!!! 34 Week Appt.
On Monday, September 25th I had my 34 week doc. appointment. I had to do my non-fetal stress test for the week first - so it was an early appt. at 7:30AM! As usual our little girl was fast asleep during the test, and didn't want to wake up and move around enough for the nurses, so we had to do an ultrasound. The pictures below are from that ultrasound, the tech actually went into 4D which they don't do usually except at your 16-20 week appt. At our 16 week appt. when they did it - our little peanut refused to show her face, but she made up for it on Monday - she tried right away to put that hand up there and cover herself (she is obviously NOT like her Mommy when it comes to pictures..lol!) But we got a couple pics before she did. It was so amazing to see her little chubby cheeks and cute round nose!!! Made us so excited to see her!
Everything else with the appointment went well - measured at 35 weeks, heart rate was good, and we had good news that she had moved out of the breech position and is now head down (yikes!!). So things are moving along! 6 weeks to go!!!!

34 Week Belly Pics!
It just keeps growing and growing and growing!!! I am long waisted and she has a lot of room to grow in there, but if I hear one more person tell me that I am hardly showing - I might explode!! I can't even bend over anymore!! I know that the belly is out there!! LOL !!

Shower Time!!!
Saturday, September 23rd, Robin and Tiffani had a baby shower for me!!! It was a difficult decision to decide if I was still going to have the shower after my Dad had passed away on Tuesday, but in the end I decided that because all my Dad could talk about was this baby, and how excited he was, that he would still want me to celebrate! It was an amazing shower, and I had tons of fun, Robin and Tiffani did an awesome job, and everything turned out perfect!!

Richard F. Dziobecki, 53, died Tuesday September 19, 2006 at Southridge Healthcare Center.
Richard Dziobecki, was born on December 10, 1953 in Albany, NY. He spent several years living in California and moved to Minnesota to continue his education. On July 23, 1979 Richard married Cheryl Courtney and the couple moved to Sioux Falls, SD to start a family.
Even though Richard suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis he always managed to have a happy attitude, putting a smile on everyone’s face with his wit and sense of humor. He was an avid sports fan and was loyal to the Minnesota Vikings.
Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Amy (Todd) Anawski, Sioux Falls, and Justin Dziobecki, Sioux Falls; brother Ron (Lesly) Dziobecki, Long Beach, CA; sister Ivy (Jim) Hogeveen, Luverne, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private services will be held by the family at a later date.

Thoughts and Prayers
Thanks to all of my friends and family for their thoughts, prayers, kind words and support as we go through this very difficult time.
My Dad, Richard Francis Dziobecki lived the last years of his life in so much pain, that we are taking comfort in the fact that now he is in a place with no pain and suffering. He passed away on Tuesday night(September 19, 2006)around 8:30PM. The night before had been a horrible night of suffering for him, and his body final gave up.
We are honoring his wishes of cremating him and not having a service. We do plan on having his ashes buried somewhere we can visit and honor his memory. We will have a small service at this time.
Even in his last hours, he was thinking about my brother and I not wanting us to see him go through anymore, he was having a horrible night and he was trying to act brave and joke with us, not wanting us to worry. He was an amazing man, who went through so much in life, that he just didn't deserve. He was only 53 years old. We feel so lucky to have had such a loving, caring father and friend.
Thanks again to all of my friends and family and their condolences. I will keep you all updated in the next few days, as things get finalized and settled....

She keeps us on our toes already!
We had a rough weekend with out little peanut this weekend. From Thursday night to Saturday morning I was having a really hard time getting any (if any) "kick-counts" (Kick-counts are basically tracking fetal movement in an hours time - should have 4 good kicks in an hour). I also was having a lot of pain in my abdomen, it didn't feel like contractions, but it was pretty painful. By Saturday morning we decided to call the doctor.
The doctor had us immediatly go into the hospital to be checked. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor, and monitored her for a good couple of hours. She seemed to be moving, and doing fine, which was an instant relief for us. They did do a ultrasound to measure the fluids, and found a couple things that where contributing to the decreased fetal movement.
If you have too much fluid around the baby or not enough it can cause decreased fetal movement, I have a little excess, but nothing too be worried about, but enough to have it harder for me to feel her kicking around. Also, the found she is still in the breech position, babies start moving down at around 32 weeks - I am only 33, they are confident she will move into position, but because she is growing and in that position right now - is why it's causing the abdomen pain and the decreased movement.
So long story short, everything turned out wonderful, she of course was moving all around on ultrasound, opening and shutting her mouth like she was trying to talk to us! We have decided she just likes lots of attention...wonder where she gets that from?!?!?
